Programme aim
This programme aims to provide line managers with the knowledge and skills to manage grievances effectively in line with best practice, using organisational policies, procedures and processes. Participants will be able to apply what they have learned in the programme by practising skills and reviewing case studies.
Learning objectives
Upon completion of this training, participants should be able to:
- describe the grievance procedure and the legal framework underpinning this procedure
- recognise what a grievance is
- identify your role and responsibilities as line manager in managing grievances informally and formally
- describe how to resolve grievances at the informal stage with staff
- apply the skills to conduct an informal grievance meeting and a formal grievance hearing
Duration
Half day - 9.00am-1.30pm
Targeted participants
This programme is targeted towards line managers in the HSE and Section 38 organisations.
Programme requirements
Ideally participants on this programme will have previously completed People Management the Legal Framework Programme.
