Reporting a stolen or lost device

Important

If your password is included on a stolen or lost device, contact the National Service Desk on 0818 300 300 to have your password reset immediately.

HSE laptops

If you lose or have your laptop stolen, there are a number of actions to complete including one or more of the following:

A data breach incident report does not need to be included with the ticket if:

  • lost or stolen laptop is encrypted and the encryption password was not lost or stolen with the laptop

A data breach incident report must be included with the ticket if:

  • lost or stolen laptop was not encrypted
  • lost or stolen laptop was encrypted, but the the encryption password was lost or stolen with the laptop. Contact the National Service Desk on 0818 300 300 to have your password reset immediately

HSE tablets and data-storing devices

If you lose your tablet or data-storing device (for example, portable hard drive, removable storage media), log a ticket that includes the HSE incident report with National Service Desk self service portal.

NSD will contact you to find out if the device is encrypted using strong encryption (for example, AES 128, 256 ).

The ticket will be assigned to an eHealth manager if the tablet or device is:

  • not encrypted
  • encrypted but the encryption password is lost or stolen with the device. Contact the National Service Desk on 0818 300 300 to have your password reset immediately

HSE mobiles and smartphones

If you lose your mobile or smartphone, log a ticket that includes the HSE incident report with National Service Desk mobiles portal.

Contact your phone supplier (Vodafone or 3) and request a ‘remote kill’ command for your phone.
