Visiting restrictions introduced at Nenagh Hospital
COVID-19 outbreaks impacting both inpatient wards at hospital
24th November 2023 ¦ VISITING restrictions have been introduced on both inpatient wards at Nenagh Hospital as part of the management of COVID-19 outbreaks at the hospital.
Exceptions to the restrictions will be made on compassionate grounds for patients who are critically ill or at end-of-life, and for people assisting confused patients (e.g., patients with dementia). These exemptions are on a case-by-case basis
We regret any inconvenience these restrictions cause for inpatients at Nenagh Hospital and their loved ones, but the measures are necessary to protect the safety of patients and staff, and to keep essential healthcare services open for all patients.
Patients attending Nenagh Hospital for scheduled care - outpatient clinics, day surgery and endoscopy - are asked to attend their appointments as planned.
We wish to reassure the public that all appropriate infection control precautions are being followed to minimise the risk of spreading COVID-19 infection among staff and patients, within Nenagh Hospital and in the wider community.
Anyone accessing the hospital site is urged to co-operate with advice from staff on the visiting restrictions, as well as hand hygiene, masks and other precautions.
