Organ donation and the Human Tissue Act staff training

The Human Tissue Act 2024 will change how people in Ireland become organ donors.

The Act will implement a system of presumed consent for organ donation after death. Families will continue to be involved in decisions about organ donation.

People who do not wish to donate their organs can add their name to the National Opt Out Register for Organ Donation (OOR).
