Course demonstrating how to provide a structured and patient-centred approach to video consultations using the core skills of the Calgary-Cambridge guide.

This course demonstrates how applying the core skills of the Calgary-Cambridge guide to video consultations provides a structured and patient-centred approach. The guide incorporates how to provide structure to your video consultations, along with building relationships with your patient/service users via video.

The guide is broken down into 5 sections:

  • initiating the session
  • gathering Information
  • physical examination
  • providing information and planning
  • closing the session

HSeLanD module – telehealth

This module provides healthcare providers with guidance in implementing telehealth in hospital and community settings.

On completion of this module, you will be able to:

  • state the definition, basic history and background of telehealth
  • consider legal and regulatory issues when conducting telehealth
  • identify various indications of telehealth service delivery
  • use basic etiquette and ethical best practice guidelines when conducting telehealth
  • demonstrate basic skills necessary to provide telehealth services using a secure video conferencing platform
