About the HSE Clinical Governance Framework webinar

In 2025, the office of the Chief Clinical Officer commissioned a review and update of the HSE 2012 Clinical Governance Framework.

The updated framework will apply to all publicly funded healthcare services, including acute and community, within both statutory and voluntary sectors.

The process involves four inter-linked phases:

• Phase 1 – Discovery
• Phase 2 – Design
• Phase 3 – Implementation
• Phase 4 – Review and Assess

Professor Sharon Sheehan (Co-Chief Clinical Director and Clinical Director for Quality and Patient Safety, HSE Dublin and Midlands) is leading the initial phases of this work.

The Discovery Phase is complete, and the Design Phase is now underway
