The 2024 Controls Assurance Review Process (CARP) opens on 29 October 2024.
The CARP is a process that assists the HSE to complete a formal annual review of the effectiveness of the organisation’s system of internal controls. It allows us to highlight the strengths of our controls environment and to identify activities which may require further improvement and support.
Who completes the CARP?
- Staff at grade VIII, or equivalent salary and above across all services
- Any other staff member deemed appropriate by their management team

The 2024 CARP training programme runs throughout October until 5 November. Registration is open for the training programme on the CARP training website.
The survey site closes on 6 December 2024. Management in your area may set earlier internal deadlines by grade to ensure timely submissions.
