Safeguarding Adults at Risk of Abuse eLearning Programme

Staff working in services for older people and people with disabilities are required to complete Safeguarding Adults at Risk of Abuse training.

This module is designed to help staff recognise when an adult might be at risk of abuse, how to respond, and how to report it.

Designated Officer training

The National Safeguarding Office runs a training program to support safeguarding designated officers in their role in managing abuse concerns.

Managers Toolkit

Help staff learn about safeguarding with the Managers Toolkit (Word, 645 KB, 18 pages).

The toolkit includes worksheets to guide group discussions. The templates can also be used for individual exercises in team meetings or other learning activities.

Making Safeguarding Personal Toolkit

Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP) puts the person at the centre of the safeguarding process. It considers their views and outcome preferences, giving them control over the process.

There are 12 tools in the Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP) Toolkit.

These tools were developed by the UK Local Government Association and have been adapted for Irish practice by the National Safeguarding Office.
