National Homeless Learning and Development Training

This training programme helps services meet current quality standards.

This includes the following policies:

  • National Standards for Safer Better Healthcare - Healthcare Services
  • National Quality Standards Framework (NQSF) for Homeless Services in Ireland

The training is for HSE-commissioned service providers which includes NGOs, private providers, and statutory services. However, any service that assists people experiencing homelessness is welcome to use this training.

Objectives

  • Establish a standardised framework for nationwide learning and development
  • Set baseline training topics to ensure new staff receive consistent and essential knowledge
  • Increase staff confidence which improves motivation and retention
  • Embed trauma-informed care and person-centred practices in service delivery
  • Inform strategic decisions through data-driven insights into training needs
