Children First

Important

The HSE has a responsibility under Children First to ensure all staff and volunteers can recognise signs of child abuse and make a report to the Child and Family Agency (Tusla).

An Introduction to Children First’ training is mandatory for all HSE staff.

This includes staff that are:

  • permanent
  • temporary
  • agency
  • locum or visiting

It also includes students and volunteers.

Duration

The eLearning module lasts approximately one and a half hours.

How to book

An Introduction to Children First' is an eLearning module available on HSELanD

You can access HSELanD on a smartphone, tablet or PC.

Create a HSELanD account at https://www.hseland.ie/dash/Account/Login

If you have difficulty creating an account see http://www.hseland.ie/dash/Account/RegistrationHelp

If you're a volunteer, you can register for the training module at http://childrenfirst.hseland.ie

Find the training module on HSELanD by clicking on ‘my learning’ and typing 'children first' in the search box.

Certification

You will get a certificate when you have successfully completed the module. You should forward this to your line manager.

You can re-take the module until you achieve the pass rate.

Your certificate is valid for 3 years. You can do refresher training after 3 years and you will get a new certificate.
