Spark Seed enables frontline healthcare workers to apply for micro funding (up to €5,000 per individual or group) for innovative projects that have the potential to improve our health service.
We welcome ideas from doctors (NCHDs and consultants), nurses, midwives and HSCPs . All previous applicants may apply with new or revised innovation projects.
How to apply
The Spark Seed program is always open for applications. Every few months, the Spark team reviews submitted project ideas, shortlists them, and selects which projects to move to the next stage.
Here are the shortlisting dates for 2025, during which all applications received in the corresponding period will be evaluated:
- 10 February
- 19 May
- 15 September
- 17 November
- Apply online with a problem you have encountered in your workplace and a potential solution. You do not need to have a fully thought-out solution to apply.
- Attend Design Thinking Workshop. You can attend a workshop before knowing the shortlisting outcome.
- Opportunity to pitch for Spark support to a panel of experts (the pitch session will be approximately 2 weeks after the shortlisting date).
