Spark Ignite helps staff develop solutions to challenges faced by healthcare providers and patients. The competition is open to all disciplines and departments.
Successful applicants will:
- attend a bespoke healthcare-focused innovation workshop to hone their idea
- pitch for funding
- take part in the national final for regional finalists held at the annual Spark Summit
Regional and national opportunities
This year’s Spark Ignite is a national event divided into 3 regional areas, with an opportunity to pitch for funding at the Galway, Cork or Dublin regional final. A national final takes place afterwards between the regional winners.
Prizes
Competition winners will be given funding to further develop their ideas and will receive ongoing support and mentorship.

Spark Ignite is run in association with the Health Service Executive (HSE), the Office of the Nursing and Midwifery Services Director (ONMSD), the National Health and Social Care Professions Office (HSCP), and National Doctor Training and Planning (NDTP).
