The HSE Choice and Medication website offers information on mental health conditions and medications.

The information has been created to help support mental health professionals in making informed decisions about treatment and medication. It may be useful also for service users, their family members or carers.

The website is open to all healthcare professionals including:

  • psychologists
  • social workers

Printable leaflets

Healthcare professionals can access printable leaflets for service users or other professionals.

These include:

  • patient information leaflets
  • leaflets on the use of 50 medications if pregnant or breastfeeding
  • fact sheets
  • charts
  • guides on how certain medications work

Some of these printable guides are available in different languages.

Medicines A to Z

The HSE medicines A to Z may also be useful. This has guides for the general public written in plain English. The guides were developed by health experts. More medicines will be added over time.
