The HSE Health App gives our patients secure, personalised access to health information.
The app transforms how patients access and manage their health information. The latest app release includes many more hospital and community appointments. This allows more patients to view their appointments in the app, if they choose to use it. We are working to make more appointments available over time.
Other new features include BreastCheck screening appointments, and the option to update allergy information. The app will also include the QUIT Smoking Programme and provide weekly healthy pregnancy advice to those who sign up for it.
Anyone age 16 or older can use the app. It can be downloaded on to a smartphone from the App Store or Google Play. You need a verified MyGovID account to log in to the app and access personal health information.

About appointments
Following the successful rollout of maternity service appointments, the HSE Health App will include more hospital and community appointments.
The appointment information displayed in the app comes from the HSE Integrated Patient Management System (iPMS).
Not all appointments for all clinics will be displayed in the app. However, we are working to make more appointments available over time.
People can use the app to see their:
- hospital appointments, if the hospital they are going to shares this information with the app
- breast screening appointments
- maternity care appointments

Using the app is optional. People do not have to use it to view their appointments and will continue to receive appointment letters as usual.
App users cannot change or cancel their appointments using the app.
Any changes made to appointments in iPMS will appear in the user’s app within about 30 minutes. For example, if an appointment is rescheduled or cancelled.
Helpful information about the app and how it displays appointments is available in the Staff FAQs (PDF, 570 KB, 2 pages).
Logging in to the app
Only app users who log in with a verified MyGovID will see their personal health information. Logging in with a verified MyGovID ensures we share personal health information with the right person.
People can still use some parts of the app without a verified MyGovID. For example, they can learn about health conditions and HSE services.
To get a verified MyGovID, you need a PPS number and a Public Services Card (PSC). If you do not have a PSC, it can take a few days to get one.

Encourage patients to use the app
We ask you to encourage patients and service users to download and use the app.
Support and accessibility
HSE Live is available to assist people who need help using the app.
People can continue to access services and healthcare as usual if they choose not to use the app.
We will continue to work with voluntary organisations, advocacy groups and disabled people’s organisations to make the app as inclusive and useful for as many people as possible.
Find more information about the app, how to login, and why we use MyGovID on the HSE Health App pages - HSE.ie.
