Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP) puts the person at the centre of the safeguarding process. It considers their views and outcome preferences, giving them control over the process. This approach places the focus on improving quality of life, wellbeing, and safety.
MSP Toolkit
There are 12 tools in the Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP) Toolkit.
These tools were developed by the UK Local Government Association and have been adapted for Irish practice by the National Safeguarding Office.
The toolkit asks practitioners to focus on the user and their perception of what is happening. The emphasis is on what is important to the user, with the aim of increasing their engagement, choice, and control.
