Update your plans for severe weather this winter

Severe weather events are becoming increasingly common in Ireland. This winter, it is important to prepare for periods of severe weather so that our services are not compromised.

The Severe Weather Planning (SWP) Guidance for HSE Services 2022/2023 (PDF, 47 pages, 1578 KB) has been updated. This document will help you plan and prepare for severe weather.

If you are a manager:

  • update your existing severe weather plans
  • make sure all staff are made aware of them

If you are a staff member:

  • familiarise yourself with severe weather plans for your area or department
  • discuss these plans with your line manager as needed

All Area Emergency Management Offices are available to support and advise managers on updating existing SWPs.
