A season of outdoor events continued at the Creative Activity Garden, located on the grounds of St John’s Community Hospital in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, in recent weeks.
The most recent involved a performance from Tumble Circus.
Performed by the duo behind Tumble Circus, Ken and Tina, their “Won’t be Told” show was centred on the experience of continuing to create, perform and push physical limits over time.
Blending high-level circus skills with a deliberately chaotic energy, the show combined acrobatics, juggling and comedy into a performance that resisted the idea of fading into the background.
Featuring an amphitheatre styled area, the Creative Activity Garden is a multi-functional space for gatherings and health and wellbeing activities in the heart of the HSE healthcare campus. The attendance at the Tumble Circus performance included residents and service users of the campus, staff, visitors and neighbours of the campus in Enniscorthy. Refreshments were provided by the catering team from St John’s Community Hospital.
Recently appointed HSE Integrated Services Lead for Waterford Wexford, Sarah Donnelly, was welcomed to the event by Kas Nolan, Director of Nursing, HSE Waterford Wexford Mental Health Services.
The Activity Garden project was supported as a placement incentive by Wexford County Council’s Culture and Creativity team and Age Friendly programme, in partnership with the HSE, Creative Ireland, the Irish Architectural Foundation and the Enniscorthy Men’s Shed. Opened in September of last year, the development was also made possible thanks to funding from the government’s Town and Village Renewal Scheme.
