A single point of entry has been established to access the Linn Children’s Primary Care team. This is leading to reduced waiting times to access appropriate interventions.

The topic of this webinar is "Inclusion Health", with a focus on issues in people experiencing social exclusion and addiction.

The webinar will cover the key concepts in Inclusion Health and common barriers to healthcare access experienced by those in socially excluded groups. We will further focus on people experiencing homelessness and addiction. This group of people has complex health and social care needs, yet they are often perceived as non-engaged in healthcare.

During the webinar, we will learn about managing mental health needs in addiction, including assessing and managing acute drug-related mental health disorders. We will also explore community drug use and the challenges this presents in prescribing commonly used analgesics and medications for practitioners managing those in addiction.

The issues discussed in this webinar will be helpful for all clinicians in acute hospital settings, as well as those based in integrated care or community settings.

Labourward is key to the delivery of safe maternity care. In this webinar we explore why CS rates may rise and the factors that influence CS rates.

Understanding who and why is delivered by CS allows us to better approach CS birth. Operative vaginal delivery is a common procedure on our labourwards, and the choice of instrument most appropriate for our patients is an important aspect of labourward management. We will explore the short and long-term implications of both forceps and ventouses.

Finally, we will hear from Helen McHale, an experienced midwife on her learnings from listening to women reflect on their delivery experiences. She will share her experience as a birth reflections midwife at the National Maternity Hospital

The launch will showcase the HSE’s new online suicide prevention training programme that helps people to develop their skills to keep others safe from suicide.

The event will be opened by Minister Mary Butler - Minister of State for Mental Health and Older People. Additional speakers include Damien McCallion, HSE, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and John Meehan, Director, National Office for Suicide Prevention.

The launch will showcase the role and impact of suicide prevention training for people with Lived Experience of suicide and for NGO partner agencies working with Irish communities on a daily basis.

The HSE and Department of Health have published new National Physical Activity and Sedentary Behaviour guidelines for Ireland. The new guidelines provide evidence based recommendations for everyone on the amount and types of physical activity to gain health benefits, as well as recommendations for reducing sedentary behaviour. To create awareness about the new guidelines, HSE Health & Wellbeing hosted a webinar on Tuesday 12th March 2024. During this webinar you will hear about the new guidelines, key messages for public and professionals, the evidence and process for developing the guidelines and the role the guidelines play in enabling more people to be more active, more often.
