Local authority members may be granted up to 12 days of unpaid special leave each year to attend authority meetings held during work hours.
You may also be granted up to 5 days of unpaid special leave each year to attend local authority events other than meetings held during work hours.
The HSE will only grant leave if it does not incur additional costs as a result of the leave. Applications are considered on merit and the needs of the service.
