The Community Pharmacy Agreement 2025 is a national contract between the Department of Health, the Health Service Executive (HSE), and the Irish Pharmacy Union (IPU). It sets out the agreed contractual terms and conditions for participating community pharmacy contractors, including how pharmacies are funded, the fees and allowances they receive, the services they provide, and their role in delivering expanded patient care directly within the community, alongside reforms in system integration, digitalisation, and administrative processes.
Under the Community Pharmacy Agreement 2025 Community Pharmacies must Opt in if they wish to partake in the Common Condition Service. If you are a community pharmacist and you want to take part in the Common Conditions Service, you need to complete the Common Conditions Service (CSS) Opt-in Form, sign it and send it to Contract.National@hse.ie
You must also provide your pharmacy details for the HSE Pharmacy Finder, using the online Pharmacy Service Listing Request Form.

The National Cervical Screening Programme is available to women aged 25 to 65. Women participating in the programme can arrange an appointment to have a free test with a CervicalCheck registered GP practice or clinic of their choice.

The HSE National Screening Service engage General Practitioners and Medical Practitioners to carry out cervical screening tests in the Primary Care setting on eligible clients. Screening tests are submitted to the laboratories designated by the HSE National Screening Service.
For Existing National Cervical Screening Contract Holders
On the 1 January 2026 a new nationally agreed contract for the provision of cervical screening in a Primary Care setting was implemented.
This national contract runs for a period of three years from 1st January 2026 to 31st December 2028.

If you are requesting to be registered with CervicalCheck for the first time, please email admin@cervicalcheck.ie stating that you wish to be a contract holder with the Programme. Please provide your full name, MCRN, Practice / Clinic name and address. The required registration documentation will then be issued to you for completion.
For ease of reference please see the nationally agreed contract document below. This sets out the terms and conditions associated with the national contract and should be reviewed prior to requesting to be registered with the Programme.

If you are requesting to register with CervicalCheck for the first time as a sample taker under the governance of a registered contract holder, please email admin@cervicalcheck.ie stating that you wish to register as a sample taker with the Programme. Please provide your full name, MCRN, Practice / Clinic name and address together with the name of the contract holder(s) in the practice that you wish to be registered with. The required registration documentation will then be issued to you for completion.

Clinical Dental Technicians are dental healthcare professionals, registered with the Dental Council, who provide complete dentures and partial dentures directly to adult patients when the patient’s oral health is established through a recent visit to a dentist. Clinical Dental Technicians who have a contract with the HSE can treat medical card holders under the Dental Treatment Services Scheme.
