National Infectious Diseases Isolation Facility

The HSE National Infectious Diseases Isolation Facility in St. Ita's Campus, Portrane, Dublin, is a 24-hour, 365-day facility with 43 beds.

It is for self-caring adults who have an infectious disease but cannot isolate in their home environment. Babies and children may also be referred here for isolation once they are with a parent or guardian.

Adults who are not self-caring can also be admitted if they are escorted by a carer.

The facility is zoned so that people with different illnesses and different isolation needs can stay at the same time, without risk of cross-contamination.
