Pre-Admission Unit care for nurses and midwives - National Foundation Programme (Level 8)
This 12 week NMBI accredited Level 8 (10 ECTS) Module is delivered once a year at South East Technological University (SETU).
This module is delivered online once a year commencing end of January.

This module contains six units:
Unit 1 Advanced Health Assessment
Unit 2 Anaesthesia and Preoperative Assessment
Unit 3 Preoperative Investigations
Unit 4 Medication Management
Unit 5 Communication
Unit 6 Perioperative management of Chronic Diseases
To be eligible to apply you must:
- Be currently registered on the live register held by The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
- Currently working in HSE/HSE funded hospitals
- Approval and written confirmation of support from Director/Assistant Director of Nursing/Midwifery
- Confirmation that the applicant will be working in the Preoperative assessment unit for the duration of the module
- Confirmation that a suitably qualified clinical practice supervisor/mentor will be available to support and assess the applicant during the module
- Complete the HSE Declaration of Understanding contained in the online application form
