NMPDU South West (Cork and Kerry) CPD Programme Funding

This NMPDU Cork/Kerry processes funding applications for postgraduate education for nurses and midwives in the HSE South West Region who meet the agreed criteria.

We accept funding applications for:

  • Short Programmes (study days/workshops/conferences)
  • Formal Academic Programmes (Modules, Certificate, Diploma, Higher Diploma, Graduate Diploma or Masters Studies, Nursing & Midwifery courses QQI Level 6-9)

Application Process

• Read the Guidelines for Funding Support for Continuing Professional Development for Nurses and Midwives (PDF, size 533 KB, 8 pages)
• Identify correct application form for your programme of choice i.e. Short programme application or Formal Academic application
• If you have any problems with the application form, contact your local HSE ICT department.

1. Short Programmes (accepted throughout the year)

Complete the following application form and submit via email to NMPDUApplications.CorkKerry@hse.ie.

2. Formal Academic Programmes (accepted during designated funding campaign periods only)

Complete the following application form using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC only:

Submission process for formal academic programmes:

  1. Completed funding application form sent to your line manager as an attachment.
  2. Line manager reviews application and completes Section 4 of the form and send as an attachment to Director of Nursing/Midwifery/Designated Person (CNM/M3 or above grade)
  3. The Director of Nursing/Midwifery/Designated Person (CNM/M 3 or above grade) submits electronically to NMPDU via submit button at end of application form.

Applications are accepted all year round for short programmes.

Formal Academic Campaign Dates:

For formal academic programmes due to start in September 2024

  • Opening Date: 8 April 2024
  • Closing date: 7 June 2024
  • Decision Date: Week beginning 10 June 2024
