This means that nursing and midwifery skills and competencies are used to provide high quality, patient-focused care.
There are 2 clinical career pathways open to nurses and midwives:
- Advanced nurse/midwife practitioners who focus on managing whole episodes of complete clinical care
- Specialist nurse/midwife practitioners who focus on discrete aspects of a patient’s care
